Hello,

My name is Griffin McKinzie. I am a 3rd year sports industry major, I just changed into this major from Exercise science. I grew up playing all sports but came to Ohio State to play volleyball, until an injury cut my career short. I just got my second shoulder surgery at age 20 on NYE, which is basically a minor shoulder replacement. This is my first time doing a blog so I don't really know what to do.

So growing up playing sports I started to specialize my sport and focused on volleyball and soccer then eventually just volleyball. I have always played a leadership role but i truly came to my leadership role this year on the club team before and after my surgery. Before i played a leadership role of a captain on the court, but now i have taken a leadership role of an assistant coach, as this is a position i am new to, i am certain i will be able to come into my role as i have already helped my team get better every practice.

Thank You! Blog 1 in the books!

  1. I too had some injuries that hindered my career so i understand a little where you are coming from. I strongly believe that leadership is shown more in a down time than when everything is going well and you seemed to respond to the adversity you were given extremely well and should be proud of what you have done so far. Good luck to you in the future in this new role
